A Warm Welcome to Our New IT Director, Glenn Barling

It’s an exciting time at External IT, and we’re thrilled to introduce Glenn Barling as our new IT Director. This past Friday, not only did we enjoy a celebratory lunch at the Rising Sun to welcome Glenn aboard, but we also marked the 3-year anniversaries of our colleagues Joey and Blake.

Glenn is a seasoned professional with a rich background in IT management and an impressive track record of driving business success through innovative technology solutions. Since moving to Townsville in 2017, he has contributed his expertise to several reputable organisations, including the Hinchinbrook Shire Council, Cootharinga NQ, Connect and Grow, and CSIRO. Before his move, Glenn played a pivotal role at Peter Kittle Motor Company as their IT Manager for 8 years, a time of significant growth and expansion for the company across South Australia and the Northern Territory, supporting over 280 staff members.

Glenn’s vision for External IT involves not just bolstering our cyber security and refining our policies and procedures, but also enhancing our operations and leading our technical team towards even greater efficiency and innovation. His holistic approach to IT management is poised to bring about transformative changes that will benefit our clients and our company alike.

We also want to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Blake and Joey on their 3-year milestone with the company. A big shout out to all our dedicated staff, including Luke, who have truly stepped up over the past year, helping us support our clients and continue our trajectory of growth and improvement.
